A-Z Fantasy & SF

It’s that time again for recommending new reading material! Add suggestions in the comments and I’ll update the list. I don’t care what kind of SF or F – I’d like to see a good variety. Likewise, I’d like to see lots of different authors, settings, new and old books, etc. So recommend your favourites!

(I had to double check the alphabet twice to make sure I typed it out right. I’m out of practice! For the more difficult letters, I’ll count author name containing those letters, too.)

SHOVEL READY. Hard-boiled dystopian sci-fi by Adam Sternbergh. As close as we’re liable to get to James Ellroy writing sci-fi.

So…you might be sorry you asked. lol. I could come up with more too, but ran out of time with being at work and all. ;)

If you would like some steampunk, Philippa Ballantine & Tee Morris Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences series starting with Phoenix Rising is wonderful. Or for a romance in steampunkish world there is Badlands by Seleste deLaney too.

Fantasy… Hapax by K.T. Bryski, Promise of Blood by Brian McClellan, Michael Sullivan’s fantasy series starting with The Crown Conspiracy, Murder at Avedon Hill by P.G. Holyfield, Lamentation by Ken Scholes (actually this whole series!)

Urban Fantasy… Jessica McClain series starting with Cold Blooded by Amanda Carlson, Mind Games (1st book in trilogy) by Carolyn Crane,

For fun Urban Fantasy to relax with… The Shambling Guide to New York City by Mur Lafferty. I really enjoyed her Playing for Keeps story but I think only available in ebook or for free listening.

Science Fiction-y romance – It’s a novella, and I so need to get to the series as I loved this one, The High Priestess by Katee Robert

I’m sorry, Amanda Carlson’s first book is Full Blooded (not Cold Blooded).
