State of the books, Sept 2017 edition

Hi everyone! Excuse the mess. I’m *still* renovating. Blame the asshole hackers who thought it would be cute to change all of my page links to include the word Viagra in them. Slowly, though, everything is getting updated. I’ll be working on the header over the next couple of weeks.

First, an update on my health. Next week will be a year since my surgery and I’m feeling a lot better than where I was a year ago. I’m disappointed that recovery wasn’t swift or miraculous, and I’m slowly accepting that pain is now a part of my life. Still, the pain is less than it was pre-surgery, and I’m gaining strength in muscles that I couldn’t even feel before, so that’s an improvement.

For books, the next Bethany (Tranquility) book will be out in November. There are two more books left to this new story arc, and the entire series. However, since there is a lot to tie up to ensure everyone gets their happy endings (or, meets a deserved end, or gets a heroic end, as the case may be), the next two books are going to be quite hefty in comparison to the previous books of the series. So I hope that helps quell some of the disappointment.

There is also a new Rebecca (Collaborator) book coming out this autumn. I haven’t settled on a date yet, but it will be coming out over the next couple of months, as well.

I’ve taken most of this month off to do admin work (like my website!) and recharge my batteries. I am starting the next Allegra (The Dark Abyss of Our Sins) book right away. I don’t have a release date for that, but I am aiming for late winter. It all depends on how long it takes to write the first draft.

After that, I’ll be alternating between the three series until both fantasy series are done. As I said, there are two more Tranquility books still to write, and the Abyss series is planned to be three books in total. I don’t know how many books the space opera will be yet. So after both fantasy series are done, I have no idea what I’ll be writing next! Still, I’m sure I’ll think of something.

Thanks to everyone who has been sending well wishes for my health and keeping in touch. I appreciate it. I am feeling well enough to be doing more writing again, so while I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to write as fast as I used to, I’m hoping I can continue the three books a year trend.

All the best,
